EVANS-DESIGNED CANDELABRA TOWER IN MILWAUKEE, WISCONSIN

The Milwaukee community TV antenna tower project, or Telleplex is now broadcasting digital high definition television! The project was conceived in 1996 by the Milwaukee Area Technical College, licensee of NTSC channels 10 and 36. MATC hired the technology consultants to conduct a feasibility study for the complex, consisting of a 1221' tower and transmitter equipment building to be located on the Milwaukee River on the city's east side.

Evans Associates implemented an extensive consensus process in order to validate the economics of the new structure, and has designed the $7 million tower to accommodate 12 television stations, 14 broadcast FM facilities, and numerous mobile radio companies, cellular providers, and numerous other wireless spectrum users.
