KSCADE K-12 Consortium

Evans Associates worked with the Fox Valley area K-12s on technology planning and network implementation. During the summer of 1996, Evans performed on-site visits to each K-12 high school in order to evaluate and provide recommendations for the building of electronic classrooms. Specific recommendations given to each school included suggested improvements in building power, cabling, lighting, and equipment. Evans wrote and issued a vendor RFP for the interconnection of the cities, and facilitated the evaluation of responses. Ultimately, the group selected a state-of-the-art ATM fiber-based solution; the emerging network includes video and data interconnectivity, Internet access, and administrative video/data capabilities. Evans negotiated the contracts for this new technology and assisted in its implementation.
