Evans Associates' clients have known for years that the day was coming when local communities and/or environmental groups would be sued becuase of a tragedy precipitated by insufficient cell phone coverage. Well, it has happened in upstate New York, where a man froze to death after being trapped for 32 hours in a car that had skidded off of a remote mountain pass. He died while his wife tried frantically to call 911. A cell tower that would have been nearby had been nixed by an environmental group that said it would "spoil the view." A lawsuit is pending.
